August 31: Ruffle Bangle Bracelet - COMPLETE

Pattern # 243: Ruffle Bangle Bracelet

Pren is a sweet girl that I found somewhere on the blogosphere.  I have been reading her blog for quite some time.  And now I cannot really remember how I found it, maybe in a Harry Potter search or something. But yeah, anywho, she made these cute bracelets and I thought I would share her tutorial with you.

-----------------------
Updated 7/13/2011:  I finished this bracelet in about 15 minutes. Sadly, the "bangle" part underneath was too big.  However, Matt gave it to me (he saved it from something) so I wanted to try and use it!  It is still cute, just not my size! Here's my iphone pic:

August 30: Small Classy Clutch

Pattern # 241:  Small Classy Clutch

This little purse is just too cute.  I think I would make it in black or silver and black crocheted together.  Or maybe in hot pink, that would be quite bright and random!

August 29: Adirondack Cap - COMPLETED

Pattern # 241:  Adirondack Cap

This is another pattern from my friend Laura over at Lala a Mountain Mama.  She is just the sweetest things ever with super cute patterns.  I love that she offers a few for free as well.  She created this pattern a few months ago and I thought it was adorable.  Go check it out, and the rest of her fun site as well!

Updated April 12, 2013: This hat is cute and apparently makes me look goofy -- you should have seen my attempts to get this picture. Let's just say it's (obviously) a self portrait with my giant posted board as the background. I had to sit on the floor by the coffee table and get the angle just right and... well let's just say that the uncropped version is hysterical! Anywho, I do love the fun edge of this hat!

August 28: We Gather Together

Pattern # 240:  We Gather Together

This outfit would be perfect for your doll to wear on Thanksgiving, don't you think?  It looks rather pilgrimish to me.  Maybe that's what the whole we gather together thing is all about, ya think?

August 27: Ice Skating Outfit

Pattern # 239: Ice Skating Outfit

This is the cutest little ice skating outfit for an American Girl doll.  I used to want to be an ice skater and had an ice skating outfit from the American Girl catalog (yes it matched my doll's).  Did I ever take lessons or wear the outfit on ice?  Nope.  But I did wear it around the house and pretend to be an ice skater.  Anywho, this is today's pattern. I may crochet it in purple to match my old outfit.

Doesn't your American Girl doll need a sailor outfit?  I think so!

August 25: Life is Just Peachy

Pattern # 237:  Life is Just Peachy

Another american girl outfit.  I really need to stop picking patterns with 3 or 4 parts (like pants, a top, and a bag).  This is making it like patterns 237, 238, and 239.  Goodness. haha

August 22: Youthful Memories

Pattern # 234:  Youthful Memories

It is another week of American Girl patterns here at Crochet Every Day.  From this link, I plan to pick one of the patterns (there are like 6 or 7 in this outfit) to crochet for the girls at church.  It will be a
Christmas gift for them, if I can finish some of these in time!

August 20: Froggy Hat - COMPLETED

Pattern # 232:  Froggy Hat

I actually ran out of charities to post about, even though there are way more than I wrote about.  I picked this hat pattern out after my sister in law and good friend encouraged me to make dog and cat and frog and other animal beanies.  We saw some on the streets of San Francisco, and they said -- "You can do that!"
----------------------

Updated August 28, 2013: This hat is adorable! It actually was pretty quick to whip up as well. A good friend LOVES frogs, so she bought it! This is really making me want to make more baby hats -- they are SO quick to make! And so satisfying to finish. And SO adorable!

August 19: Project Night Night & Cable Hearts Baby Blanket

Project Night Night is a charity that I found out about from a charity group on Ravelry. (Notice a theme in my life?  I love the community on Rav).  This charity wants to make sure that no child goes to sleep without a comfort blanky or book.  Especially those children who are homeless.  They aim to "reduce trauma and advance the emotional or cognitive well-being of the children they serve."

Pattern # 231:  Cable Hearts Baby Blanket

I love this pretty little baby blanket.  It is gorgeous and would be perfect for donating to Project Night Night.  It is my plan to crochet this blanket and then donate it.

August 18: Hat Box Foundation & Deeply Textured Hat - COMPLETED

Today's charity is Hat Box Foundation.  One of my dear friends, and also a blog reader, Melody told me about it.  She makes gorgeous hats and then sends them to this charity.  What she loves about the organization is that they put the hats in gorgeous boxes before they send them to the children.  I plan to make a few hats and then send them with Melanie's next hat shipment.

Pattern #230:  Deeply Textured Hat

I just found this pattern on ravelry and I think it is incredibly wonderful.  Wouldn't it be perfect for donating to the Hat Box Foundation?

----------------------

Updated 5/3/2011:  I finished this hat, but I still need to get pictures.  I will be selling it at my Craft Fair in a few weeks.  However, Matt really really likes this hat.  He will definitely be getting one for Christmas!   I used Vanna's Choice in Grass, I believe.  The other was made with Red Heart Fiesta.

5/17/2011:  I finally got those pictures taken.  I actually have made two hats with this pattern.  Well, mostly.  For the lighter, more feminine hat I did the brim from another (basically sc around in the back stitch, so the front stitch part makes the line).  Very cute. Here are the two.

And yes, I did take this picture at about 10 pm in my craft room.  You should see the shots that ended up on the editing room floor... haha

August 17: God's Tiny Angels & Baby Ripple Dress

Today I was going to talk about how I used to donate items to the Veteran's Hospital in my area.  But I did not really have a website or a specific pattern.  Then a reader, Susie, suggested that I post about God's Tiny Angels.  This group that she crochets for creates clothes and blankets for tiny babies (kinda makes sense with the title, right?)  haha

Pattern # 229:  Baby Ripple Dress

This pattern is super cute and would be perfect to send to the charity.  You can check out their pattern blog for more free patterns - but only if you are crocheting the items for charity.  And it all goes on an honor system here.

August 16: Warm Up America & Shell Stitch Afghan Square

Today's featured charity is one that I first crocheted for about 13 years ago, when I was in Junior High, Warm Up America. With this organization, you knit or crochet a certain size (7" x 9" rectangle) and donate it to the organization.  They then sew it together to other people's rectangles to make a blanket.  If you have a large group, you can make and donate your own blankets in the company's name.

Pattern # 228:  Shell Stitch Afghan Square

While any stitch can be used to make a square for Warm Up America, I would love to make this shell stitch one.  I have never made this stitch before, so it would be fun to learn.  Oh yeah, and if you click on the link then scroll down to see the pattern.  :)

Check out my completed projects page for 2 new projects.

August 15: Santa Claus Inc & Summer Splendor Doily - COMPLETED

Today's charity is Santa Claus Incorporated, which is actually a local charity to the San Bernardino area.  They give gifts to children in the area that would otherwise not receive gifts.  They ask you to sew, knit, crochet, or create wooden toys as gifts for children.  One of the things that they give is doll beds, so a blanket would be perfect to go with it.  This is something that I can easily crochet.  They also take crocheted (or sewn or knitted) clothing for 4" or 11" dolls.  They also take crocheted clothing & blankets for babies and children.

------------------

This was originally a giant granny blanket, but I already made that on March 22 (not realizing it was the same type of pattern). I am changing this pattern to the Summer Splendor Doily, and I plan on making a baby blanket with the pattern. Picture to come once finished!

-----------------

Updated April 29, 2012: I finished the doily blanket in just a few days and I LOVE it! I used one strand of pound of love (I think) and another strand of Sensations. Doily patterns make such awesome blankets!

August 14: Onion & Turnip -- COMPLETED

Pattern # 226: Onion and Turnip

This is one last healthy pattern for play food week.  I'm really excited for this next week though, I am going to be sharing a different charity every day, and of course a pattern that either came from them or can be used for their purpose.  Anywho, today's pattern is the onion & turnip (I know, it is similar to the radish)

-------------------

Updated June 18, 2014: So I only made the onion, because I don't need a turnip too. hahaha I had a really hard time getting a good picture though. Capturing white crochet work is hard!!

August 13: Fortune Cookie - COMPLETED

Pattern # 225:  Fortune Cookie

Hey everyone!  Just so you know, I'm out of the country for the rest of the month.  My husband and I are housesitting / working with the organization Hands of Mercy for the rest of the month.  That being said, my posts may be late.  The internet can be spotty.  But it is nice to get away from so much connectivity!

Today pattern is a Chinese Food dinner must have.  What do you think?  Will you make one of these?

----------------

Updated June 9, 2014: I love chinese takeout and the fortune cookies are the perfect dessert! This project was super quick to crochet and I love how it came out!

This is another pattern from Hannah at Bittersweet.  I love the healthiness that even appears in some of her crocheted creations!

--------------------------
Updated June 10, 2014: Another project in the books! Matthew has been working a lot, and I have been crocheting little projects like crazy. I want to finish as many as I can before this year is up!!

August 9: Veggie Basket

August 8: Sandwich - COMPLETED

Pattern #220: Sandwich

It's another food week over here at Crochet Every Day.  I think I told you all that I finally got that book, Tasty Crochet.  Yeah.  Love it.  Still trying to find fun, free patterns for you all though.  It has been hard to put that book down, in order to make stuff from here.  That's part of the challenge though -- keeping myself motivated to finish!

-------------

Updated June 5, 2014: There is just something wonderful about a sandwich. The crisp bite of the lettuce, the tartness of a pickle, and the softness of two pieces of bread. You cannot really replicate that in crochet, but I gave it my best shot! Well, minus the pickles!
