November 30: Snowman Ornament - COMPLETED

Pattern # 334:  Snowman Ornament

Another day before Christmas, another ornament.  These would be perfect to put on top of Christmas presents!

--------------------

January 1, 2014: It's time to get working on these projects! This is the year to finish! I whipped up this guy in an evening and sent him off to a friend as a gift. Cute, right? Even if the mouth looks a little weird.

November 27: Turkey Talk Afghan

Pattern # 331:  Turkey Talk Afghan

This pattern makes me giggle.  I am not promising to make the whole blanket.  That would just be too much (probably).  But I want to make one square and join it into a sampler.  That would be sweet!

Don't forget to enter the giveaways!  Today is the last day to enter the last three!

Pictures from Coats & Clark:

Doesn't this crack you up?  It kinda looks like a peanut. haha

November 26: Thanksgiving Gourds -- COMPLETED

Pattern # 330:  Thanksgiving Gourds

Lion Brand has a new fall pattern out, these sweet looking gourds.  They are different than the veggies in the cornucopia.  They definitely seem more autumnish. haha

--------------------

December 12, 2013: I actually finished these bad boys up before Thanksgiving, but forgot to post about them. Whoops! I only crocheted two, but since I already have a cornucopia of crocheted items, I figured that was all I needed. As always, I love the Lion Brand pattern.

Congrats to our winners!!

First, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  I hope you had a wonderful day with your family and friends!

Now, onto the Giveaway Results - Round 1!

I used random.org to draw the answers.  I thought about taking a screen shot of each result, but didn't want to put the effort into finding out the shortcut with my computer (much easier on a pc!).  So I will just let you know which comment number was the winner

Giveaway #1 - Big Girl Jewelry Pattern
Out of comments 1 - 10, number 10 was chosen (I excluded Laurie's comment, since she designed the patterns)!
Congratulations to Hookin It with Mr. Lick Lick who said:
I like Lovey the Lightbulb! How cute.

Giveaway #2 - Washcloths from Ducks in a Row
Out of comments 1 - 14, number 12 was chosen (Paula was #1, but asked to be included)
Congratulations to MaryAnn, who said:
About me: I'm mama to three little kids, and I love to crochet (although I don't know many stitches yet), sew, and do fun activities with my kids!

Giveaway #3:  Kimono Pattern from Adirondack Patterns
Out of comments 1 - 12, number 7 was chosen.
Congratulations to Paula, who said:
1st, before I forget it I have to write down my favorite pattern . . well, I have two and can't choose between them.  1. the crochet summer dress for 0 - 6 month olds and 2. the cap sleesed baby dress.  It seems like I always have a baby girl to crochhet for.  As a matter of fact, I have a great niece/nephew and my Bestest friends grand-daughter/son are both due in May . . so i may need it sooner than I thought.

I have emailed everyone, if they don't get back to me with their addresses in a few days, I will draw new winners!  Thanks to everyone who participated and don't forget to enter the last few giveaways!

November 25: Fisherman Sampler Throw

Pattern # 329:  Fisherman Sampler Throw

This pattern has absolutely nothing to do with Thanksgiving -- but I am thankful that I can crochet! haha I hope that each and every one of you is having a wonderful day with family and friends.  I know that I am!  Today I am reminded of how grateful I am for everything -- but most of all for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Because of Him, I have everything.  Without Him, I have nothing.  Hard to imagine / wrap your minds around, but true.

November 24: Thanksgiving Turkey

Thanks again to Hannah at Bittersweet Blog for this fantastic pattern.  I love what she comes up with, and we have definitely not seen all of her patterns yet (there is at least one coming in December!)

Don't forget to enter the giveaways!  Today is the last day to enter the first three!

November 23: Thanksgiving Wreath

Pattern # 327:  Thanksgiving Wreath

This pattern is quirky.  Maybe that is why I like it!  I'm not sure what my husband would think of this pattern, but I think it is fun!

November 22: Tom Turkey -- COMPLETED

Pattern # 326:  Tom Turkey

What does your Thanksgiving table need?  A turkey!  Well, either a tasty one, or a sweet crocheted one for your guests to admire!

-----------------

Updated November 15, 2012: This turkey did not take very long to finish at all. I always assume projects with arms and legs will take forever, but they do not! I actually crocheted this one together as I went (meaning I crocheted the wing, arms, feathers, etc first and then attached as I crocheted the body). This was my second time using this technique, and I was not really following any instructions -- so I was pretty jazzed when it worked out so well!

November 21: Bountiful Napkin Rings

Pattern # 325:  Bountiful Napkin Rings

Thanksgiving is this week.  Yay!  I'm excited to eat lots of good food and enjoy time with my family.  This year, we are trying something new -- a buffet.  It will be way less stress than cooking a meal, and the menu looks fantastic.  But I have to admit that I will miss cooking / spending time in the kitchen!!  Next year, I can set the table with these napkin rings!

just a quick hello

Happy Saturday!  I just wanted to throw a big hello to all of the new followers.  I see you in the comments, and I'm slowly making my way to your blogs!  So glad to have you all here!  Not much else to say, but welcome and I am glad you are here.

And here is a cute picture of one of my 2 cats.  She's just a sweetheart!   She was upset because she got stuck outside.  I kept hearing her little meow behind me as I was working in the front room!  haha

Giveaway Week: Day 5 - Earrings from Big Girl Jewelry

Giveaway closed.  Thanks to everyone who entered!  Come back again for another fun giveaway!!

-------

Friday is Jewelry day.  Why?  Well because I said so -- and because Laurie offered to give a pair of earrings to today's lucky winner!  She said you can take your pick of one of over a hundred pairs of earrings.  Just check it out, okay?

This is one pair that you could choose... I love the flower beads!

I wandered around Laurie's shop and found these star earrings.  They are my personal fave!
Want to win your own pair of earrings??  Here's how:
  1. Leave a comment on this post telling me a little about yourself and what patterns you want to see here (I only have a month left in my challenge).
  2. Visit Laurie's Bonanza shop and tell me what you like... you already know my favorite!
  3. Leave another comment if you follow on blogger or google reader or wherever else.
  4. Share this giveaway on your blog / facebook / twitter and then come back and leave a comment letting me know you did so.
Contest closes at midnight on November 27th, 2010. I will announce the winners on the 28th. You get four entries per person / ip address. If your profile is set to private, then make sure to leave your email or a way to get in contact with you! Good luck

November 19: Snowflake Earrings - COMPLETED

Pattern # 323:  Snowflake Earrings

This pattern is another one from Yellow, Pink, and Sparkly, which is in my google reader.  I just love how cute these earrings are.  They are a bit big for me though, so I may try to make them with smaller crochet thread or a smaller hook!

------------

Updated June 10, 2014: I wasn't sure I would ever wear these as earrings. However, when I was looking for a pattern for an embellishment on a scarf, I knew this was just the fit. I used two strands of sock weight yarn and a really big hook (of course I can't remember now what size) to make the embellishment. It was PERFECT! I wrapped it around the back and sewed it on. Now I'm just sad that I didn't think to take a pic of the back. It is super cute though!

November 18: Baby Checks Blanket - COMPLETED

Pattern # 322:  Baby Checks Blanket

Remember my great baby blanket search awhile back?  Well, I found this adorable blanket during that search.  And I am about 99% sure I know who the recipient is!  And it is for a boy with a beachy themed room -- so I envision greens & blues!

--------------

Updated 9/25/2011:  Finished!  I love finishing blankets.  It feels like such an accomplishment!  I am not sure who this blanket was for, originally, but it definitely did not stay with beachy greens and blues.  This is for my co-workers baby, and her pink and green and brown room!

Planet June Crochet Along

Do you guys remember June ?  She is the designer of the pumpkin pattern that we used in the Crochet Along. Well, yesterday she released new Christmas ornament patterns.  The ornaments sure are beautiful.
The baubles (right) are the newest ornaments that you can purchase from Planet June
I wanted to let you know that June is hosting a sweet Crochet Along on her blog, with some awesome prizes.  I am going to enter.  I plan to make the Christmas Pudding ornament, as that has been on my to do list for a very long time (and will show up on CED later this month).  If that goes well, I hope to buy a pattern, maybe the pocket ami or the Christmas tree.  They both look amazing!

Anywho, I just wanted to let you all know about the Crochet Along.  Do you think you will enter?  You have over a month to do so!

November 16: Baby Gingham Blanket - COMPLETED

Pattern # 320:  Baby Gingham

A friend asked to make a blanket for her baby boy.  While searching, I found this pattern and I love it.  I could do it in blues, greens, or whites.
--------------------------------

Updated March 22, 2012: I finished this blanket about a week before the baby shower! I ended up making it for a different friend's baby boy and she LOVED it. Thank goodness. It was 241 little squares. Whew. I actually made 244 because I lost 3 in the couch. I was so confused when I was down to the last three... because I knew I had counted accurately! I found the missing squares two days later. Oh well. I used Lion Brand Pound of Love and I think a different pound of yarn in three different shades. LOVE how it turned out!
