Happy Sunday! I'm teaming up with my girl Laurie to put on this fun giveaway for you. She is the one who designs those lovely scrubby patterns that I am always making. Can you believe I no longer buy sponges? I simply use a scrubby for a few days and then throw it in the wash (we have a bin for dirty rags by the garage door so they don't stink up / get moldy in the house). Anyways, here's what Laurie has to say...


In honor of the fact that I've been a total Basket Case lately, Megan and I are each giving away one Basket Case Three-Piece Set. This is not the actual finished project, it's the .pdf file which includes patterns for the scrubby, pot holder, and towel.

Basket Case

I finished up this scubby this weekend... aptly called the Basket Case Scrubby. Since I'm feeling a bit like a basket case right now (Matt's Fire Academy has begun), it made perfect sense to finish this.

Christmas is Coming

I know. It is only November. Thanksgiving has not come. But we cannot deny the one-month-awayness of December, now can we? I may not advocate listening to Christmas music yet (except Charlie Brown, because that's acceptable), but I will totally encourage early-in-season gift making. I made these Christmassy items a few weeks ago in order to just get something off of my hook and feel like I was accomplishing something!

Scrubbies.

I did not realize just how many scrubbies I had until I was doing laundry the other day....

Thanks to Laurie for the patterns -- I love the scrubbers.  I use them for a couple of days, then throw them in the wash!

Stars & Stripes

I am trying to create a pattern for these stars, but for now you can just take a peek!  Please excuse the weirdness of my ironing board.  It's just water -- not sure why it looks brown.  Do any of those stars look more starlike than the others?  Which do you like?  Or do they all look the same? haha

I also finished up the first in a new set of scrubbers from Big Girl Jewelry -- the ridged scrubby set.  I am  halfway through the second pattern, and excited to start the third!  I tried it once already, but I was tired and could not make sense of it -- so I went with the easier two!  Here's the Vertical Ridges Scrubby.

As promised

Here are some of the things that I have been making for the Craft Fair that I am having.  I am planning to write out a pattern for one of the hats, and the stars.  Are you interested, or is it pretty much the same old same old?

The blue green & white yellow hats are the ones that I am planning on writing the pattern for.  You can't see it here, but there are little criss crosses in the pattern.

The green hat is actually a pattern from Lion Brand (September 26: Autumn Harvest Hat), three cheers for another item off my big long list!!  There is a better picture of the hat on the project page.  And the scrubby -- it's a new one by Laurie, the vertical stripes scrubby.  I'm excited to say that I inspired these patterns.  Glad to be an inspiration, girl!  :)  I have also been sewing some skirts.  I still need to get pictures of my Easter skirt, but I LOVE it!  :)

Broken Links Scrubbers

I have been testing out some of Laurie's new patterns.  I love using these in my kitchen.  Once they get stinky, I just throw them in the dirty rag / towel pile.

A friend just moved into a new home, and I wanted to give her a little something.  One of these scrubbers was just the perfect gift!

Bread Basket Scrubby

I finished another scrubby for our kitchen.  I love both the bright colors of this yarn and the awesomeness of this pattern.  Thanks to Laurie at Big Girl Jewelry for another fantastic kitchen pattern!  If you want to make a bread basket scrubby of your own, you can purchase the pattern here on Ravelry, or buy it from her etsy shop!

I am also really excited because I realized that I have now finished at least one pattern from each month!  Yay!  The Best Baby Cloche was an August pattern -- which was the last month left without a completed project!  You can check out the Completed Projects page at the top of my site to see my progress.  Let me know if you complete any of the items from patterns found here, I would love to see how your projects turn out!

This cute little scrubby is just that -- cute!  I love that it is a circle, and a spiral.  And apparently really easy! haha

Updated 11/7/2011: I made this scrubby a couple weeks back in an attempt to quickly finish a project. I made an ornament that same day so I felt super accomplished. I just wanted to get a little bit closer to finishing my goal! This scrubby is cute, and I made it Christmassy, but I'm not really sure if I will use it. Oh well. One more item off of my list of 365!

Pattern # 209:  Big Girl Dish Scrubbie

This pattern is from a reader.  It is her very first pattern design!  I am so excited to share it with you all today.  You have to check out her blog, it is soo cute!  She has the most wonderful sounding recipe for a chai latte on the sidebar -- I need to try it out asap!

I am so excited to share this finished picture with you.  I wasn't sure how much I would like this scrubby (especially because I made her newer, for purchase patterns first); but I truly love it.  It is a perfect size to fit right in my hands.  Check out Ravelry for pics of the other scrubbys that I made.
