Starry starry night (or day)

This blanket is finish number one hundred fifty eight. 158. That means I am at 43% complete. hahaha I won't finish my goal this year for sure. Maybe I should revise it to 2020?? I do love this blanket tho. There were supposed to be little stars sewn around the sky, but I like it just how it is. It's a sunny sunny day, I guess. Not a starry starry night. haha

Flowers in the Snow

There's something deeply satisfying about finishing a crocheted blanket. Especially one that you've been chipping away at for eighteen months. Haha this one was designed to use up my stash, but I still have so many small balls of yarn left. So of course I started another blanket. But for this moment, I'll go ahead and just enjoy this blanket. It's perfect for snuggling on the couch or laying on the lawn (although it's not as long as me haha). Flowers in the Snow is my 149th finish in my crochet every day challenge.

This pattern had a lot of weaving in ends. Usually that is my nemesis, but I got smart this time and wove in most of the ends when I was 90% finished. And of course I crocheted over all the ones on the edges. So that when I finished my last round of the border, all I had was that one tail to weave in. And it was done. So good!

Gah. So much goodness. What's on your hook right now??

Fairy Godmother (pink zebra style)

I am a proud godmother. I like to call myself the #fairygodmother because I think it is awesome. I digress. I found out that I was a godmother to be last fall. And then I found out it was going to be a girl and her room would be all things pink and zebra! So I got my hook going as fast as I could and came up with some super cute baby things for her. Her daddy is into legos, so I made a lego blanket, and I made my own design with the block layout to look zebraish. I also went a little crazy with monograms in zebra print. Now that little Audrey is here, all I want to do is hold her all day long!! First, a few pictures with our precious little goddaughter.

The Lego Blanket was a bit time consuming, since I could not add each block as I made it. But I love how it turned out!!  (Here is a link to my ravelry project page, but you will not find the pattern there. It's a video that I found on pinterest.)

The zebra hat is by far my favorite!!! I cannot wait to get pics of the little miss wearing it!! (You can find the pattern at Repeat Crafter Me, and my ravelry project here)

...and here you can see how I went just a little applique crazy. Sadly, that's not even all of it!! But how cute are the hoodies? Too stinkin cute, I tell ya!

Can you tell gift giving is my love language??

Babies, Blankets, Pets & More

I love seeing people use the things that I make for them. Seriously, it brings me such great joy. I finished up this Hexagon Blanket in June and was not sure who it was intended for. When my friend Bobbi received her daughter last week, I just knew the blanket was for her. I have seen a few pictures of her laying on it, and I LOVE it. Totally makes my heart happy!

Little Rylee is the sweetest thing ever. I was privileged enough to visit her twice already, including at her Meet & Greet yesterday. I love holding little ones, and cannot wait for the day when I have my own in my arms!

When Kai is in the house, the kitties pretty much stay up on the couch / away from her. They are usually out during the day, so I don't feel bad about this. However when Kai is outside, they think they rule the house again. Here is Halvsies in my craft room, he found the perfect spot! haha

This picture is two months old, but I still cannot believe Kai was ever so tiny!

Lastly, any guesses as to what I am making with these pom poms??

Forest Blankey Love

I've been busy sewing lately, which is good! I had taken an unintentional sewing break for far too long! A dear friend just had her third sweet boy, and I sent this this blanket and tag blanket.

The picture doesn't do it justice. The fabric really is adorable. And word on the street is that the little man loves it! I love to make gifts for friends, so it makes my heart happy to hear that the gifts are loved as well.

Currently...

I really hate having a blog post without a title, but sometimes I just have no idea what to say! I've been working on a few projects lately that have taken forever to finish! I'm maybe halfway through a scrappy granny circle afghan, and a quarter of the way through a striped giraffe. I'm trying to use up scraps, but I swear they are multiplying!!

I also picked up this tank top that I started crocheting last year. I'm still not sure about it, but it's turning out cuter than I imagined!

And just for fun, here's a pic of our adorable pup laying next to the cat -- it's a miracle!

Doilies

I finished up a few projects last week that I wanted to share with you. First off the hooks is this cute little doily. It's one of the first patterns that I found, when looking for doily patterns. I was not sure if I would like the final product, but I was really happy with it after blocking.

September 3: Pineapple Doily
I also finished a baby blanket for a co-worker. Her shower is next month, but I doubt she will see this! I used a doily pattern and two strands of worsted yarn. I LOVE how it came out!

Finishing things up

I have not posted in awhile, and luckily that means I have lots to share! I finished that Gingham Baby Blanket that I was working on. I actually finished it a week before the shower. Woo hoo!  I also adorned a onesie with a crocheted heart, sewed up a fleece hat, and made a golf onesie (sewn on "green" and vinyl flag). You can see more (larger) pictures of the blanket on the project page.

I also made a pinecone. Because I started it last fall and wanted to get it finished. Not really the season, but I just do not care. It feels good to get something finished!

I have also made some more progress on my ripple blanket.

Oh yeah! And Matt and I celebrated four years of wedded bliss!  Woo hoo!

I am thinking of a doing a little Easter crochet along. Anyone interested?

Chuggin along...

I've made some progress on the blanket for my friend's baby. I'm way ahead of my little schedule that I made last week, actually. I only have four more little light blue squares to go, and probably four more rows to join. Yeah. I'm stoked. I need to remember that I still have to do all of the vertical joins though, and an edging.

Okay. I'm not going to focus on what I have left. Just keep making my baby steps! haha I still have ilke three weeks left to go, though! What are you working on right now?

Progress

I have been working on this blanket for quite some time now. I'm about 70% finished and I need to finish by mid March (because I actually figured out who it is going to)... I think I can, I think I can!

Baby gingham blanket 70%

Hope you have a fabulous week!

Also, I was on facebook and a friend posted a picture of her baby on the blanket that I made. Let me tell you, that made me smile! I love knowing that the things I worked hard on are appreciated and used! :)

Ripples

The other day my Mother in Law called to let me know that she found some yarn at an amazing price and would I want it? Of course! The bright colors made me think of summer, so I started this summery ripple blanket. It is going to be the perfect size for draping over the couch... for my favorite 4 legged friends to sleep on!

Finished Baby Blanket & a Visitor

I started this baby blanket last year. It kept getting thrown into the back of my crochet basket, because it did not have a recipient. A few months ago, I decided that I need to just woman up and finish it. Someone will have a baby that I can give it to. Or I can donate it (duh!). So I got out my hook, bought a second thing of yarn (because I ran out) and finished this project. Now, if only I hadn't started three more projects..

That leaves my current works in progress at six. Oy vey! Oh well, I'm going to be thankful that I finished this (because tomorrow is Thanksgiving, after all) and move on. Oh yeah, and update the project page for this sweet little blanket! Wanna know who else wanted to get in on this photo shoot...

Kitten! haha She just walked right on through my photoshoot. She really just wanted to get to the rock so she could scratch her back.

Hubs is looking at her thinking "what a weirdo," meanwhile, she must have spotted something in the distance.

Oh how pets can give us so much joy. These kittens are super quirky, but I LOVE them! :) Oh yeah, and they are over two years old, so they are definitely not kittens anymore. But they are still cute and cuddly!

I finished this blanket for my friend a couple weeks ago.  And since today is her shower, I can totally share it now!  Yay!

Finished Blanket

I just realized that I never posted a picture of my completed blanket. The baby has arrived and is doing very well. Here are a few pictures, and I just realized that I did not get any good pictures on my camera, just iPhone ones. Oh well maybe she will use the blanket at their newborn shoot!

Currently on the Hook

I have been sewing a lot lately -- and for myself!  Now that the craft fair is over, I sewed a few skirts that I had been putting off.  I am planning to write a tutorial for this skirt over on Newly Wife later, but for now you can see a couple fun pictures that my wonderful hubby took.

I have also been crocheting a few things lately.  The finished cloche is with Lily Sugar N Cream in Pinky Stripes, with a Chrysanthemum [Mother's Day] pattern from Lion Brand.  Very fun and different!  The in progress cloche is being crocheted with Sugar N Cream yarn in Moondance!

Oh yeah.  And the blanket is Nov 16: Baby Gingham and I love how it is turning out so far.  I mean, I still have a TON to do, but I love it so far!

A hat, a bag, and a blanket!

I am excited to show off some of my Christmas gifts to you all.  I know most people showed off their goods on December 25, but I have never been on time! hahahaha  So first, a bag for my mom.  The fabric is all about San Francisco, which is the big city by our house.  I LOVE how it turned out!  I packaged some fun goodies in it for her.

Also, I was inspired by the Green Bag challenge on Sew Mama Sew.  I know I missed the deadline and all for the prizes, but I still wanted to share what I did.  I got a few bags from Old Navy last year, after Christmas (for super cheap) for gifts for my sisters.  And the tiny bag was on sale at Hancock... it was the perfect size for coasters!!

Next, I finished the crochet squares afghan for my mother in law.  I LOVE how it turned out.  What do you think?

I also made a phannie hat for my sister in law.  It is not my style, but I am hoping she liked it!

I think the yarn was too stiff.  It isn't soft and lush like I wanted.  I think I am going to have to remake it for her!  My cousin also wants one in white... remember my post from yesterday??

How did all of your Christmas gifts turned out?  I made more, but haven't taken pictures of them all!
