December 30: Summer Flower Throw

Pattern # 364:  Summer Flower Throw

Let's be real.  We all know how much I love the Lion Brand website.  So it is fitting that one of my last patterns for the challenge is from them, right?  This blanket is light and airy.  It is the perfect "summer" throw -- so aptly named! haha

December 29: Hexagon Blanket - COMPLETED

Pattern # 363:  Hexagon Blanket

This pattern from Attic 24 is amazing!  I mean seriously, how gorgeous does this blanket look.  And if you are a new crocheter, than Lucy's directions are perfect for you.  She breaks each thing down step by step with brilliant pictures, so even the daftest of people could understand!!  My goal is to make a blanket... but what colors should I use??

--------------------

Updated June 27, 2013: It took me forever, but I finally finished this dang hexagon blanket! Remember when I shared the start last year? Yeah. It took me FOREVER to find the motivation to finish this bad boy. I kept putting off weaving in the ends, even though there were not too many (because I tried to weave as I went).

It is a gorgeous blanket though. I had two friends who had girls who were supposed to get this... those kids are now one and six months. Whoops.

---------------
Updated January 2014. I gave this to a friend when she adopted her newborn daughter. It was perfect. Like it was meant for her. Here she is...

December 28: Cupcake & Sushi Ornament - COMPLETED

Pattern # 362:  Cupcake & Sushi Ornament

The year is almost over.  It has been a fantastic year though, hasn't it??  This little ornament is adorable.  You can make either a cupcake or sushi roll.  I think the sushi would be the perfect Christmas gift topper for my sushi loving brother -- next year!!

--------------------------

August 30, 2013: I finished this quick little project in one evening. I decided to make both of the little guys. Personally, I think the cupcake is adorable, but the sushi is pretty cute too. I thought about giving it to my bro as a topper on his Christmas gift, but I really don't think he would care. Just being honest there! It also looks really flat. I should have made it taller!

December 27: Snowflake Garland

Pattern # 361:  Snowflake Garland

Here we have another Coats & Clark snowflake pattern.  I wonder where I could put this garland -- we dont' have any staircases (and I imagine it on a bannister).  Hmmm

December 26: Snowflake Table Runner

Pattern # 360:  Snowflake Table Runner

Happy Day after Christmas.  That is called Boxing Day in Canada & England, right?  Well today it is a wedding day.  My hubby is in a wedding today and I will be in attendance.  I hope the weather is nice, since it is outside at 11 am!!

Anywho.  Okay.  Wow.  I am seriously at 360 patterns.  That is so crazy to me.  It means I actually made it through the whole year posting a pattern each day (okay so a few times, I have had to backpost, but they were all written down in my calendar way before! haha).  And only 5 days of my initial challenge left.  Sad. But now it's time to get my hook flyin!

December 25: Snowflake Hat - COMPLETED

Merry Christmas!  I hope you are all enjoying days with your family!  It is second Christmas for me, as we had our first Christmas last Saturday with my family.  I wish we all lived closer together!

Pattern # 359:  Snowflake Hat
Wow.  This blog is confusing (it's called 85% Confusion, 15% ?).  But I love the hat pattern! haha

----------------------
Updated August 6, 2012: This hat is so fun! It actually makes me want to go snowboarding or something -- just don't tell my husband!!

December 24: Gingham Blanket - COMPLETED

Pattern # 358:  Gingham Blanket

You are probably very confused right now.  I bet you are wondering why there is a baby blanket pattern posted on Christmas Eve.  Well, I just really wanted to make this for a friend's kid, so I put it on the calendar for today (because it was empty) and I'm anal and don't want to switch things up! hahaha  But I guess you could make this in reds and greens and call it Christmassy!  I am probably stressing about Christmas Eve dinner right now, which is why I pre-posted this on Tuesday.  muahahaha the powers of blogger.  Wow.  I think I need more sleep.  Anywho, it's my first year hosting and I am very excited.  I have been trying to do a lot of prep work before, but we will see how well I did!

Do yourself a favor and check out the Rav link for this project.  The versions that people made are amazing!!

--------

Updated 2/14/2011 - I finished this up over the weekend.  I started it in December and worked on it slowly (with lots of other projects in between).  Very happy with the finished product.  I actually decreased the size by 2 rows & 2 columns, effectively cutting the amount of squares needed in half.  Then I used a larger hook.  Brilliant, I know.  :)  Very happy with the final product.  I do want better pictures though.  And maybe some with precious baby Alina on it.  I LOVE the edging!

December 22: Christmas Trees (2 patterns!!) - COMPLETED

Pattern # 356:  Christmas Tree

I love the style of the tree.  It is very different from any others that I have found before!  And it is one very very long chain. Well chain + ripple effect, wrapped around a cone.  How cool.  She uses two different colors to get the effect that she has.  I wonder what it would look like with color changing yarn???
-----------

Updated January 10, 2014: I finished this cute little tree before Christmas this year. It turned out cute, but definitely did not photograph that well! It's one really long chain thing (two rows, I believe) that you crochet and then wrap around a Styrofoam cone!

----------------------
Okay, we have another pattern today, because it caught my eye and I can do what I want.  Both trees are awesome!

Pattern #356a:  Ribbon Christmas Tree

This one is from Amanda at Pardon My Chaos.  How fun is it?  Like the old ribbon candy!
-------------
Updated December 20, 2013: This tree also did not photograph well, but it sure looks cute in person! And my hand sure is cute. Whomp whomp.

Checking in and Congrats

Happy Monday.  Well not really.  I flew in from my parents this morning, arriving at 7 am (yes that means my flight was at 6 am and I was at the airport before the clock said 5) and then booking it to work.  My luggage has yet to arrive.  I will say that Southwest was incredibly helpful and they offered either a $50 travel voucher if I picked up my bags, or a free delivery.  I opted for the delivery and the bags will arrive at the office later today (they just called to let me know they were coming).  Anywho, I am a bit behind with posting.  Sorry, that seems to have been happening on most weekends lately -- I am one busy girl.  Anywho, I wanted to announce the winners of the Sew Mama Sew giveaways!!

In case you were wondering what is on my crochet hooks -- I'm still working on a blanket for my mother in law and a cuff bracelet for my sister.  Know where they are, in that bag that Southwest is delivering!! haha

But first, I wanted to say thank you so much to all of you.  I have been so terribly busy lately that I have not had the time to visit all of your blogs, as I plan to.  After Christmas, I hope to spend some time with the computer "meeting" each and every one of you.  I do hope you stick around, and let me know what you think I can do with this blog come January -- I still have no idea!  haha  Oh yeah, and I used random.org to choose the winners.  It would have been much easier to draw names, because counting back from 180 to 136 was tiring! haha  Also, there is a good chance that I will do another giveaway once I hit 100 followers.  I never thought I would be this close!

Giveaway #1 was a crochet set including yarn and all sorts of other fun goodies.  The winner was Robyn who said, "My favorite craft is sewing. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I adore your spooky coasters. Thanks for the giveaway!"  Since she loves to sew so much, I just may throw in some extra FQs!  You should check out the cute felt ornaments that she made on her blog!

Giveaway #2 was for the coasters and materials, a copycat of my Newly Wife giveaway.  The winner was Deborah at Homemaker Honey.  She said, "French Vanilla Coffee - yum!"  Check out her blog, as well, and Deborah, I hope you enjoy your French Vanilla Coffee with your new coasters!

As always, the winners have 3 days to get back to me.  If they have not done so, I may draw a new name.  My goal is to get the packages in the mail before Christmas, but I make no promises!

December 20: Granny Square Tree Skirt & Round Ripple Tree Skirt - COMPLETED

Pattern # 354:  Granny Square Tree Skirt and Round Ripple Tree Skirt

I believe I called this week "Christmas Around the House," or something like that.  Today you get two patterns, because I could not decide which one I liked better!

Updated January 20, 2014: I finished the second pattern, the round ripple tree skirt. I really do like how it came out, and I'm excited to have a tree skirt this year! I'm going to leave the link and picture of the first pattern up above, even though I will not be crocheting them. Ain't nobody got time for that! ;)

I love the patterns that Hannah comes up with, and this one is no different.  This would be a fantastic Christmas decoration -- I love decor that children can play with.

December 18: Poinsettia - COMPLETED

Pattern # 352:  Poinsettia

Remember when I promised another Planet June pattern?  Well it is here today, and I love it!  This would be a fantastic ornament or gift topper!  And remember, you still have some time to enter her crochet along.  Sadly, I think I am going to miss the deadline, but I hope some of you can crank out some last minute Christmas cheer!

Updated 1/27/2011

I finished this up a few weeks ago, but am just now getting to posting my picture!  You can check out my project page on Ravelry, but here are a few pictures.  Now... what to do with a giant poinsettia??

This wreath reminds me of snowflakes.  What do you think?  If you have a minute, go check out the project page on Rav.  There are some awesome variations.  Like the fall colors one with a turkey.  And the green leaves with red bead holly berries.
