Getting Girly

My friend had a sweet baby girl earlier this year, and asked me to make a few things for her. My love language is gifts, so I was more than happy to oblige. After having two boys, she was ready for all things girly! She asked for the kisses hat and then I scoured her pinterest (okay, those are my boards)to see what else she wanted. Smart girl, right? haha

I decided to make matching mother / daughter t-shirt headbands as well as a pixie hat for the little Miss. Sadly, the mother headband was too small. But the baby headband has been getting tons of use. It makes my little crafty heart happy whenever I see her wearing it in pictures!

 

The pixie hat turned out really cute as well. I used up some scrap grey and pink yarn to make it. I love using up scraps!

 

Lastly, these bon bons were not for Baby V, but just seemed to fit the color scheme. Cute, right?

 

Progress

I have been working on this blanket for quite some time now. I'm about 70% finished and I need to finish by mid March (because I actually figured out who it is going to)... I think I can, I think I can!

Also, I was on facebook and a friend posted a picture of her baby on the blanket that I made. Let me tell you, that made me smile! I love knowing that the things I worked hard on are appreciated and used! :)

Feb 2: Cupcake Hat - COMPLETED

Pattern #33: Cupcake Hat

I was thinking about what random / miscellaneous things I could find to crochet, and it came to me: a cupcake hat! Thankfully, Teresa had posted this on Ravelry the day before. I quickly got to work. Currently I am still working on this (the special order baby blanket it taking a huge chunk of time!), but I love it so far! And make sure you check out the rest of Teresa's blog. She has tons of awesome patterns and videos (if you are new to crocheting, definitely watch her videos)!

I finished this one on March 5, 2010. It is not the most amazing project that I did, but it's cute. The hat is a bit too long though, and too narrow for my head. Maybe I will give it away. Or sell it. Here is my picture:

Jan 2: Crocheted Rosettes - COMPLETED

Pattern #2: Crocheted Rosettes.

This is in honor of Emily, because she has asked me so many times to teach her to make them! This Lion Brand find will be perfect! Rosettes are a great addition to beanies and scarves. Oooh or they could even be little brooches or purse accents. The options are endless!

Updated April 9, 2013: These little guys are super quick, a great way to use up yarn, and addictive! I got a shot of a few that I made. I believe one went on my granny square hat, and these others have not adorned anything... yet!

Welcome to Crochet Every Day! My name is Megan and I have a newly rejuvenated love for crocheting (also a desire to knit better than knit one...).

My goal is to post a new pattern every day of 2010 and to have EVERYTHING finished by 2014. That gives me 5 years to do 365 patterns. It seems like a long time, but my plan is to have some complex patterns, as well as simple ones. I can do a bunch of amigurumi (that's the Japanese art of tiny crocheted stuffed toys / decorations) in one day, but a blanket will take me a few weeks. This blog is more about completion. I want to complete the finding of 365 patterns and in 5 years complete all of the projects. I also want to challenge myself to try a variety of patterns - right now I have only crocheted scarves, beanies, and blankets (oh last week, when I started researching for this, I found a baby bootie pattern and made those). These projects will not all be for myself, I will be giving many things away. I also hope to highlight various charities along the way, and give things to them.

Once I have posted everything, I will make a master list of all the projects, each one will say when it was updated, started, completed, etc. The links will take you back to the original post.

I have a few sites that I use most regularly for patterns. I found a bunch at Lion Brand and Red Heart. And then this is a complete list of like a zillion crochet patterns (seriously I printed it out and it was like 57 pages).
