I love finishing projects. Who doesn't? Plus I am ALMOST at halfway. hahaha No way I will finish all of the projects, but I can aim for halfway!

August 14: Onion & Turnip -- COMPLETED
Pattern # 226: Onion and Turnip
This is one last healthy pattern for play food week. I'm really excited for this next week though, I am going to be sharing a different charity every day, and of course a pattern that either came from them or can be used for their purpose. Anywho, today's pattern is the onion & turnip (I know, it is similar to the radish)

Updated June 18, 2014: So I only made the onion, because I don't need a turnip too. hahaha I had a really hard time getting a good picture though. Capturing white crochet work is hard!!

August 13: Fortune Cookie - COMPLETED

Hey everyone! Just so you know, I'm out of the country for the rest of the month. My husband and I are housesitting / working with the organization Hands of Mercy for the rest of the month. That being said, my posts may be late. The internet can be spotty. But it is nice to get away from so much connectivity!
Today pattern is a Chinese Food dinner must have. What do you think? Will you make one of these?

This fun pattern is another sweet for your play kitchen. I think it would take all of 5 minutes to make these, as well.

Updated June 17, 2014: I thought about making a whole collection of little allsorts. A bunch of candies for someone's little one to play with. Then I realized I would much rather finish as many project as I can and come back to this later. So here is one allsort. Nothing spectacular, but enough to call this complete! Plus it used up a teeny tiny bit of yarn, and is adorable. Win!

I love Hannah's pattern at Bittersweet, and this is no exception! I really hope that someday I have daughters who want a play kitchen -- or a son. Either way, I just hope I have someone to appreciate all this crocheted food. hahaha Oh yeah and I'm just gonna make the toast slice, not the purse.

June 6: Ice Cream Cone

It is definitely summer in So Cal - no June gloom here! And I'm ready to crochet some summery things. I'm not really sure what kind of summery things there are to crochet, I always think of scarves and hats, but I will see what I can find!
First up, a nice cold ice cream cone! I do not think you can get more summery than that!

Apr 21: Fruit and Vegetable Basket - COMPLETED
Pattern #111: Fruit & Vegetable Basket
I love this pattern from Coats & Clark. This would keep me occupied for quite some time. And I bet it would not take that much yarn. Well, not that much of each color. But how "healthy" is this play food? Very healthy! A great way to teach kids about the value of fruits and veggies would be to have them as play food too, not just the yummy desserts!

Updated January 9, 2012: I finished this just the other day for a friend's one year old. This will be perfect for her little shopping cart! I ended up not giving her the olives -- they seem like a choking hazard! I really like how these turned out. I thought it would take forever to finish, but it only took a few weeks of working on it here and there. This project was also great for using up some scrap yarn. It did not take much at all! I just realized that the grapes look rather black -- but they are actually purple. And cute!
Oh yea, and I did not make the basket, because I did not like it. I figured it was unnecessary anyways!
Love how realistic these little fruits and veggies ended up being! Can you tell what each one is?

Mar 7: Sundae Oh La La Cheesecake - COMPLETED

This cute pattern is actually a charity pattern. I believe she makes these crocheted desserts as sachets and then gives the proceeds to charity. She gives away some of the patterns for free. Although, I know I will need to alter this pattern for myself, as this one has an open bottom, in the pattern. I like play foods to be stuffed, not hollow! I picked this out because it is cute and celebratory. And this is a celebratory day. Well, tomorrow is. haha Tomorrow, March 8, is my 2nd wedding anniversary, I can't believe it has been 2 years already! Wow! anywho, this week's patterns are all about fun and reader requests, and maybe a few random things that I just want to make! Enjoy!
