Ravellenic Games, Finishes 4 and 5

These two projects were pretty quick to whip up. The snowflake definitely took a bit of concentration at first, but then I was just able to go with it! I have really enjoyed the Olypmics this year. Missy Franklin and Gabby Douglas are probably two of my faves. Well, most of the women swimmers seem pretty awesome. And Lochte... well... if only he could tweet without typos. At least he is easy on the eyes -- and an amazing swimmer. Did you know he has 11 medals -- second only to Phelps (I think they are 1 and 2 in US atheletes number of medals, but don't quote me on that). REgardless, it is a stat that no one really talks about, because what is 11, compared to Phelps' 21? Anywho. What you really want to see are some photos...
Baby Ballet Slippers. Here's the important question -- are these masculine enough for a little boy to wear them? Too feminine? Tell me, please!

Snowflake Hat. Makes me want cocoa, fire, and some snowy weather! Not that we get snow here. Ever.

Remember, you can always keep track of my crochet every day progress by clicking on completed projects. What have you recently finished? Do you feel accomplished, like I do?

Ravellenic Games, Finishes 1-3

This whole Ravellenic Games thing is really encouraging me to finish up some projects. I do love a good challenge! It is definitely getting me closer to my 365 patterns goal! Here are the first three things that I finished...

Darwin Hat. It's too small for me, but that means I can give it away!

Whale. Tiny. Cute. No idea what to do with it. Maybe the cats will play with it!

Candy Cane Ornament. Pretty self explanatory. I'm sure it will look great on my tree this year!

More finished projects to share, tomorrow!

Ravellenic Games

Olympic Games. Unless you live under a rock, you know what they are and that they are happening. A few years back, knitters and crocheters started challenging themselves to yarn projects as they watched the games. This has morphed into a giant competition on Ravelry with categories (toy toss, shawl crawl, etc) with "medals" and prizes. I decided to join in on the fun this year and join Team Planet June. I have completed four items so far (which also means I am closer to my 365 projects by 2014 goal) and I and am halfway through completing a shawl. Are you participating in the Ravellenic Games? What projects are you currently working on? Have you enjoyed the Olympics so far? I really like swimming and gymnastics, although my old roommate is good friends with the 2004 & 2008 fencing gold medalist. So I cheer for Mariel too (side note, she carried the US flag in the opening ceremonies).

One of the pictures below shows my project bags; each includes a pattern, yarn, hook, and whatever notions I might need. The other picture is of my completed projects thus far; two hats, a candy cane, and a whale. Random, I know.
