Many fathers wear glasses, so a case for those glasses would be great, right? If you don't use a cutesy button or yarn (ie no pink and orange striped) and no cutesy buttons.

This pattern is a great combo of Hawaii and Wine -- two things that my dad likes! I am not sure if he will like these, persay, as they are a bit feminine. But I guess they could be fatherish- with the right colors!

I admit it, when I tried to think of gifts for my dad, I just did a search on Ravelry: wine, cigar, hawaiiana, glasses case, golf. Creative, I know. This pattern came up. It is a bit feminine, but I think it could be masculine with the right colors (black and brown).

It was designed by Drew Emborsky, better known as The Crochet Dude. He has some fun patterns over on his site.

June 15: Pirate Can Cozy - COMPLETED

Pattern #166: Pirate Can Cozy

What more can a dad want than a beer cozy with a pirate on front? Well, if you are my dad then a lot more. But I thought this was a nice and manly pattern. What about you?

This could also work for next week's theme: Grads. My cousins and bro and I all graduated from a high school where the Pirates were our mascot. Maybe these will be Christmas gifts, talk about a fun throwback!

Updated 12/8/2011: I finished this up for a Christmas gift for my brother this year. I had to make a few adjustments to the pattern, since I crochet tighter than most people. First, I went up a hook size. Second, I added a couple of rows to make it taller, and I used two contrasting colors (our school colors) for the stripes. I hope he likes it!

Arrggghh!

It kinda feels like it needs a mouth or something. Eh. I dunno. It works!

It's another themed week here at Crochet Every Day.... and this week is.... Dads! As we all know, Father's Day is this Sunday, and I thought it would be awesome to compile a list of patterns for dads. This is a tall order, as most men don't need "frilly crocheted things." But I'm going to see what I can do. First up, this beanie from Lyn's Designs.
