Headbands!

So I bought this adorable headband / ear muff thing from my friend the other day. I wasn't sure I could pull it off, but I was told that I can. You can't see it in the picture, but it has a fun crocheted flower stitched onto it. Yay! Then I remembered that I had some crochet headbands to make from my challenge. That's why I have been on a crochet headband kick lately...

Ten minutes made this adorable gray headband (Elizabeth), and I sewed elastic to the back so I didn't have to tie it. Perfect!! A bunch of friends fell in love with it, so I made more to give away!

The next headband was Laura's headband. I was going to do the elastic on this as well, but ended up using the crochet chain back. To see it worn a different way, check the original post.

Last up is this ear muff from Ashton. This is the second pattern that she gave me to review. I love how it turned out, even if the edges curl in a bit when I'm not wearing it (that may also be because I made it a little differently than her pattern). You should definitely check out more of her patterns on her Website, Etsy, or Ravelry. The baby booty patterns that she has are just adorable!

I think what I love most about this hat is how versatile it is. First off, it's reversible, so that already gives you two options. It's also designed to look knit, which I think is fun. I have a pink flower to put on it, but haven't attached it to a clip yet, and don't want to sew it on (because that ruins the reversibleness! duh)!

Craft Fair

So I have been a very busy bee in my craft room.  This weekend is my first ever craft fair.  I think I mentioned it before, but a few of my friends will be setting up shop at my house and trying to sell our goods!  I am soooo excited!  Needless to say... my sewing machine, glue gun, and crochet hooks have not stopped moving in the last month.  Since I post about every other day at Newly Wife, I have not had time to come over here very often.  But I do have a lot to come soon, including a few patterns!

Here is a box full of stuff that I will be selling:

And these are some headbands in progress!  They are now completely sewn, with a few waiting for flowers!

Whatever does not sell on Saturday will be listed on my etsy.  So stay tuned!

July 16: Laura's Headband -- COMPLETED

Pattern #197: Laura's Headband

I have featured Laura's patterns a few times here on CED, but here is another. I love this cute little headband. And if you have some cash, you should buy some of her for sale patterns. They are just too cute! Laura and her sister also have some cute fabric for sale in their shop right now. Check them out!

Updated December 10, 2013: I finished this headband as a part of my recent headband kick. I love it. I didn't think I was going to, but I really do. Mine is much smaller / not as wide as hers, but I prefer it that way.

As you can see, I styled it two different ways. I used her crochet chain across the back, instead of elastic, so it works either way. Not sure which I like better!

May 15: Elizabeth Headband - COMPLETED

Pattern #135: Elizabeth Headband

I love this pattern for the story behind the pattern! It is named after Elizabeth Bennet from Pride & Prejudice. How could you not make a headband named after her? hehe

Updated November 25, 2013: I made this headband in about ten minutes last night. I wanted to mark something off of the list real quick! Instead of making the tie string like she suggested, I sewed elastic to the back. It is perfect for me!

May 14: Headband for the Office

This is another Ravelry only pattern, sorry! If there was a link to a personal website with the pattern, I would totally link it, I swear! I like this headband because it is not super bulky. I'm not sure what color I will use though. Thoughts?

Jan 25: Headband (Winter) - COMPLETED

Pattern #25: Headband

This is pattern #2 in Winter Week, and inspired by Emily, my Newlywife partner. Christine made her a beautiful knit one for Christmas & I loved it and wanted to make one myself. I'm sure I could have knit it, but my knitting is wretched, so I found a way to crochet it. I made this first one with a mixed color yarn. However, I may make another one in a solid color and add a pattern #2 rosette to embellish this. This black and white one matches my rain / snow jacket perfectly, and I love it! Simple and very cute. I finished it on January 12th, it took about an hour, maybe 2.

Here are the pictures that I have, for now. I will try to get my wonderful hubby to take some better pictures later!
