Apr 18: Strawberry Spongecake

Pattern #108: Strawberry Spongecake

This post starts another week of play food here at Crochet Every Day. I thought I would be "healthier" this time and do mostly fruits. This pattern from Cake Sachets is not necessarily healthy, but it does include fruit! haha And yes, I do love her patterns, I have already posted 2 others of hers.

April 13: Cordial Cup w/ Whipped Cream - COMPLETE

Pattern #103: Cordial Cup with Whipped Cream

This pattern is like my very own tiny birthday cake! Someday, I would like to have a mantle decorated for each month, like Katie and my mom do. This would be perfect for the month of a birthday! Or each of us could have our own little birthday cake thingie!

Edited: That pattern is just for the whipped cream, here is the pattern for the cup to attach it to :)

I am not so sure how much I like the whipped cream part. I encountered two problems with that part. First, I think I somehow lost a stitch somewhere, but I'm not sure where that happened. And the last part of the instructions are not the clearest. I may try to make it again, or find a video tutorial for those scrubber thingies. It is still cute, but the "whipped cream" is a bit smaller than the example. For now, I call it - completed!

Mar 7: Sundae Oh La La Cheesecake - COMPLETED

Pattern #66: Sundae Ooh La La Cheesecake

This cute pattern is actually a charity pattern. I believe she makes these crocheted desserts as sachets and then gives the proceeds to charity. She gives away some of the patterns for free. Although, I know I will need to alter this pattern for myself, as this one has an open bottom, in the pattern. I like play foods to be stuffed, not hollow! I picked this out because it is cute and celebratory. And this is a celebratory day. Well, tomorrow is. haha Tomorrow, March 8, is my 2nd wedding anniversary, I can't believe it has been 2 years already! Wow! anywho, this week's patterns are all about fun and reader requests, and maybe a few random things that I just want to make! Enjoy!

Updated June 21, 2014: I went through a crocheted food phase this summer. And why not? It's quick, easy, and adorable! It also makes me want to get some sort of dessert!!

Feb 24: Frosted Donuts - COMPLETED

Pattern #55: Frosted Donut

Ready for another delicious pattern - sans calories? Well here is a Lion Brand pattern for donuts. They are so cute and yummy looking. Your little girls tea party would not be complete without these tasty treats!

Updated August 21, 2013:

It's donut time! This little guy was super fast to whip up! It's also the same base pattern as the iced donut. [In all honesty, I only made one base. First I glued on the "icing" and then when I realized it was the same, I just made the frosting and sewed it over. I didn't need two donuts!] Also, I just saw the cutest versions on Ravelry with sprinkles on top. I really should look at Ravelry BEFORE I make / finish a project!

Feb 23: Bakewell Tart - COMPLETED

Pattern #54: Bakewell Tart

I think I have a thing for desserts! haha I found this on a random blog a few months ago and just loved how cute it was! She (actually I guess it could be a he, the blog doesn't give much author info!) knit some cute little kittens, and then these tarts to go along with them. Scroll down in the blog post to see the pattern. I can't wait to make these adorable treats!

Updated August 21, 2013: I made it a goal to complete a bunch of little projects one night last week. This was one of them. It maybe took an hour. So fun and so cute!! Plus, it used up some extra yarn that I had lying around. I used a mini Gatorade bottle for the inside of the base, so it's actually pretty firm!

I left the top of the tart rather flat. I like it that way! I just saw some cute versions with red heart buttons on Ravelry though -- adorable!!
