December 7: Christmas Mouse Ornament

Day 2 of Christmas amigurumi is upon us, with this incredibly cute reindeer from Lion Brand.  My coffee & crochet date friend showed me this pattern last year and I absolutely adore it!

Updated November 21, 2011: I finished this little guy and I love him! I made this guy early, so he is ready for our Christmas decorations this year! I really cannot get over how cute he is. The hubs says that his nose should be red, so I may have to change that (easy enough to do). The cats are a little freaked out by Rudy -- they gave his face some playful swats last night! Also, how cute is that little sticker label? I just love the apps that are available for my iphone!

December 5: Holiday Penguin - COMPLETED

This week is full of holiday amigurumi patterns (sorry for being a day late with this!).  I love Christmas, so that's why this month is ALL about Christmas!  This penguin is going to be a gift for my friend who LOVES penguins.  No idea when she is gonna get it though!

Updated 12/1/2011: My friend should be receiving that penguin any day now! I shipped it out on Monday! I really like sending gifts in the mail. It is a total unexpected surprise. :) I love how the little guy turned out, and I hope she does too. My only complaint - I felt like I did not stuff him enough. Matt said it was fine, and not worth detaching the head to restuff. Hopefully that was the right call!

I could not decide which picture I liked best, so you get all three!

January 1, 2014: It's time to get working on these projects! This is the year to finish! I whipped up this guy in an evening and sent him off to a friend as a gift. Cute, right? Even if the mouth looks a little weird.

November 25: Fisherman Sampler Throw

This pattern has absolutely nothing to do with Thanksgiving -- but I am thankful that I can crochet! haha I hope that each and every one of you is having a wonderful day with family and friends.  I know that I am!  Today I am reminded of how grateful I am for everything -- but most of all for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Because of Him, I have everything.  Without Him, I have nothing.  Hard to imagine / wrap your minds around, but true.

Updated November 15, 2012: This turkey did not take very long to finish at all. I always assume projects with arms and legs will take forever, but they do not! I actually crocheted this one together as I went (meaning I crocheted the wing, arms, feathers, etc first and then attached as I crocheted the body). This was my second time using this technique, and I was not really following any instructions -- so I was pretty jazzed when it worked out so well!

October 31: Candy Corn - COMPLETED

Happy Halloween!  Today's pattern is one of my favorites from Halloween week (or week and a half -- more patterns this week!)  These candy corn just look like you could eat them!

Updated 9/29/2011:  I made a few candy corns, and how cute are they?  I love the way they turned out.  I actually thought the larger size was a little too big, so I decreased rows and changed colors earlier on the smaller two.  Cute little things these are!

Hello lovely readers!  My apologies for this last weekend.  I was super busy and realized just last night that I had not posted any patterns since Wednesday!  I have quite a few days to play catch up on.  Mind you, I have all of the patterns for the month (and half of December - Christmas patterns are quite easy to find!) picked out and meticulously handwritten on a calendar.  In fact, I also add if I am going to be making the project for someone, and if so, I put their name down and the color.  Impressive, I know.  Anywho, yesterday was the start of Halloween week (as you will find out soon, haha).  Today's pattern is a fun one from Lion Brand.

Also, today is the start of our crochet along.  More details later in the day!

Updated 9/29/2011:  I finished up a whole bunch of candies (candy corn, pinwheel candy, this candy) in one day.  I was babysitting and the sweet girl that I watch took two naps that were two or three hours each.  This was a fun way to use up yarn.  I just wish I could think of a creative way to display them in the home...

Updated 9/29/2011:  I feel so productive today as I have posted so many completed projects [roll candy, candy corn, arches square]!  Whew!  Glad to knock some things off my to do list!  Sorry for the less than stellar pictures.  It was late and my camera is like a zillon years old.  I have been having fun with picnik photo editing though. Too bad it can't take a crappy grainy pic and make it nice... at least I can use some fun text to hide it! hahaha
