October 18: All Shawl -- COMPLETED

Pattern # 291:  All Shawl

I was going to post a pattern for a cardi today.  But then I realized I had somehow picked out a knit pattern.  Weird.  My Ravelry searching led me to this pattern.  It is GORGEOUS!  I hope you like it too!

Updated November 7, 2012: I made this shawl, but it ended up way shorter than I expected. And I don't wear shawls. I did not really think about that! Oh well, it's still beautiful!

  1. Thanks for posting this, Meg! I just finished the prettiest scarf in a strawberry (mini pineapple) pattern and I'm regretting that it's not wide enough to use as a shawl. Rather than make the other again, wider, I'll use this pattern! (When's my yarn order going to arrive?)

  2. This one's really nice. I've been looking for one to add to my list for ages. Good choice!

  3. BGG - you are so welcome! And where did you order your yarn from?

Lies - thanks! I am a big fan too!

  4. I ordered Peaches n Creme from the Pisgah site again since I had such luck with the first order I placed. I ordered two sets of the seconds cones: http://www.elmore-pisgah.com/specials.htm

The order (placed on Sunday) arrived Thursday and I actually started the shawl yesterday. It works up really fast! I got about 1/3 of the way through it while watching TV last night. It will definitely need to be blocked because it looks really small so far. We'll see. I suppose the worst case scenario is that I get through the body of it and decide whether to increase the size before I add the lace at the bottom.

  5. I'm almost done. (Here's the link to my Ravelry project page for it: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/BigGirlJewelry/all-shawl) I will say that anyone who's never crocheted lace and would like to try, use this pattern as your first. It's AWESOME! It's simple but beautiful and so versatile because Doris shows several versions and tells you how to modify it to suit your needs.

*Sorry to monopolize the comments section, but I really love this project.*
