Many of you have recommended to see amigurumi patterns. Amigurumi are usually cute little crocheted animals. Many of them are somewhat lopsided & odd shaped. Those are not my favorite kind. I prefer the cutest little animals. :) So, with that little intro, I bring you amigurumi week! This is a lion brand pattern for a little penguin. It makes me think of my good friend Kelly.

I love all of the patterns that Beansprout has made. She's the one behind that hamburger yesterday. If you have a Ravelry account, definitely check out all of her work here. This would be a fun little set if you had a movie night -- great ambiance! You could put the movie case right next to the popcorn tub with popcorn & take a picture for an invitation!

Feb 26: Hot Dog (Food)

How much do we all love Hannah over at Bittersweet? This cute hot dog is her creation -- and she's a vegan, so this is probably the only kind that she will touch! I have to agree though, while cheap, hot dogs are rather disgusting! This would be fun for a boy's kitchen - now we just need to find patterns for BBQ tools and hamburgers. Actually, check out this pattern for a hamburger. It costs $2, but it would totally be worth it if you had a little boy and some free time to crochet it up!

It is time for a healthy food item, right? Well I think pears are pretty dang healthy - and tasty too! These would be fun to add to a crocheted fruit basket or something. Now I just need to find patterns for the rest of the fruits! This pattern was created by crochetroo. I suggest you wander around her blog, as she has some other beautiful patterns too!

Lastly, as I picked out a set of coasters for a friend's weeding gift, I thought my pear would look perfect on the perfect pear coaster! haha

I think I have a thing for desserts! haha I found this on a random blog a few months ago and just loved how cute it was! She (actually I guess it could be a he, the blog doesn't give much author info!) knit some cute little kittens, and then these tarts to go along with them. This is another fun food pattern. I made these cupcakes, which are also from Hannah over at Bittersweet. The top one is her pattern, and the other one is a modified version that I found somewhere else. I want to make these in a few colors as well, and put the "sprinkles" on like she did.

Feb 21: Oreos (Food Week) - COMPLETED

Pattern #52: Crochet Oreos

This week I am going to focus on making play food. I think these will be great for little girls - you know to have at their tea parties! I have made one of these cute little oreos so far - but I think there need to be 3 or 4 for a complete set. And they do look real. In fact, Matt tried to pick it up and eat it about 20 minutes ago! The big bonus - it takes about 20 minutes (or less) to whip these up. I'm off to make some more!

Did you know they have crochet patterns over at Michaels? Well, they do! I found this cute little bird mobile over there. You could totally design a whole nursery around these babies!

Wow. I can't believe I made it to pattern 50. That's 50 days of patterns. 50 days of planning & preparing posts! And only 302 left! I feel like I should be doing a giveaway or something. But what to give away? Yarn? Hooks? Finished Products? What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

Oh, and back to the pattern at hand. I picked this pattern because my hubby has requested things plaid or argyle. So I figured when we have a baby someday (nope, not prego), I should make this. I think he would appreciate the thought behind it! So this project gets listed now, but I won't be starting on it anytime soon!

We are now halfway through baby week! Crazy! Time is flying. Do you remember that Cupcake Hat pattern from early February? This pattern is by the same Teresa over at Learn to Crochet. I love her patterns, and that she lets you sell the final products - how awesome is she? And I just love this baby shoe pattern. They are so stinking adorable, and I bet I could make them in about an hour or two.

Updated April 10, 2012: Oh my word. These shoes are stinkin adorable. I made them in less than two episodes of Hart of Dixie... so I assume they took one hour, start to finish (including sewing on buttons). I took a few pictures with Instagram, but it was late so the lighting stinks -- hoepfully I will get better ones soon! I love the buttons though. They are a super cute blackish blue with sparkles.

This cute little pattern is from Bev's Country Cottage. I just love the way this little dress looks. I can already imagine it on an adorable baby girl. I can't wait to crochet this!

Sometimes I am moronic. Sometimes (okay twice so far) I post the same pattern twice. This time, at least, the pattern had two different names. But upon inspection, it was most definitely the same pattern. The "Angel Wings Pinafore" was definitely the same pattern (and url) as the "Blue Pinafore with Ruffles." Sigh. The only perk -- It left me room for a pattern that I have found since 2010. I mean sure, I have crocheted many other things than the projects listed here; but I feel better when I crochet the things on my list. Because it means I can check something off the list! These things are so stinkin adorable. I think my puppy thinks they are realistic -- she got her little teeth into three of them! Sigh. I haven't decided what to do to fix them yet, so I threw them back into the Easter decor box. I'll deal with that problem next year...

Are you all babied out yet? I'm not - I could crochet baby gifts all day long! This one was recommended to me by a coworker, she really wants me to make baby toys. I am excited to try this out, but a little nervous - it's a pretty big / time consuming project! It is a great gift for a toddler as well - and it is gender neutral!

July 31, 2012:  It is finished! I think there are real pictures on my camera, but this will suffice for now! The rings turned out a bit smaller than I expected (so they sit lower on the center stick thing), but it is still cute. And I am sure my friend's baby will love it!

Feb 15: Baby Mittens (Baby)

These are super cute and very practical. I mean, do you want your baby scratching his or her face with those precious little fingernails? This pattern is from Mimi over at Crochet & Other Stuff. You can crochet these in either white with the pink flower (or I bet it would look cute with the smallest heart from Suzie's Stuff) or just plain yellow or green or blue -- you know, for those little boys!

Happy Valentine's Day! And welcome to Baby Week. I love making things for people when they are going to have a baby. I mean, babies are cute, and all baby things are cute. So it is a major win - win situation. I made these boots a few weeks ago for a friend who just had a baby. Baby Ezra, actually. But they ended up being pretty small - they fit perfectly on an American Girl doll! haha I am going to try and make these with a larger hook, so that they will fit a baby! I improvised and made a larger pair (5.5" long) for a friend, but forgot to take a picture! If I can perfect this pattern, for my tight stitching, I will post a new picture. For now, here are my American Girl Uggs (as I now call them!)

Feb 13: Crochet Heart Garland (Love) - COMPLETE

Pattern #44: Crochet Heart Garland

Remember our heart pin pattern from Wednesday? This pattern from Cindy [at Skip to my Lou] is a spinoff on that. It should really be called a project, more than a pattern. Basically you made a bunch of those hearts and join them together. Only Cindy added another row to make them bigger. I am going to make these my own way -- which is a new concept for me. I am a stickler for rules, that I always feel like I need to follow a pattern exactly (especially for this project). However, the exact pattern might not be right for me. So I am going to make this chain with 3 different sizes of hearts, and feel more comfortable crocheting other things differently (like making a beanie bigger or smaller than the pattern, so it fits me!)

This pattern was designed by Linda Lanning over at Kalei Designs. I love hearts, if you hadn't noticed, in the past few days; so this obviously caught my eye. I don't think I would use it as a potholder though, I already have lots of those. I will probably put it to use as a decoration during February.

Feb 10: Heart Pin (Love) - COMPLETED

This lovely pattern is from Suzetta, over at Suzie's Stuff. I found this link while searching for another pattern - which you will see on Saturday! Anywho, I realized these little hearts are SUPER easy to make, and super cute! I made a few of the medium & small ones and have not decided exactly what to do with them. Well, many will go into Saturday's project - but not all. I think I am going to attach one of the little ones to a pin and then put it on my purse, or my black jacket. How cute are these?


This is actually that Butterfly beanie, from back in January, but I added the heart just to see what it would look like -- very cute! I am going to make another little beanie and adorn it with a heart. I really hope baby Atwood is a girl, because I want to shower that kid with gifts!

Feb 9: Conversation Heart Scarf (Love)

This pattern is very similar to the 100 flowers scarf (yes I have it written as flowers scarf, but I realized it is actually called 100 flowers), as requested by Lisa. This scarf was designed by Pepperberry and I can't wait to make it! I think I am going to stick to the basic pastels that she used, to make it look genuine. But the real test - should I stitch on some of the wording? Like "Call me" or my favorite, "Marry Me?" I can't wait to get started on this one!

Feb 8: Heart Afghan Square (Love) - COMPLETED

Pattern #39: Heart Afghan Square

This pattern is just too cute. This was designed by Crochet 'N' More and I absolutely adore it! How perfect would this be for a baby blanket. I'm envisioning a pale pink heart with the white background. They measure 4.5" square, so if I made it 6 squares by 8 squares, it would measure 27" by 36". That seems about right. That means I need to make 48 squares! Wow. Well, it would be worth it for someone special! A labor of love, for someone I love.

I finished my first 6 squares. So I am going to call this completed, officially, even though I plan to make a whole blanket!  Check out my post on the completed blanket here.

It's Love week over here at Crochet Every Day. Then again, it's Love week on my other blog as well. Love is in the air and all over the blogosphere! I wanted to kick this week off with this pattern from Coats & Clark. It is a project that I labeled, many months ago, as "crochet, candy, hard." That is what I really thought, "this project will be so difficult and I will never be able to do it." However, once I looked at the pattern, I realized it is a bunch of easy stitches, it just look super hard. If only I had looked closely at the pattern before, and not been so easily overwhelmed. But honestly, won't this be the cutest Valentine's Day decoration, once I finish?

It is the last week of random patterns! It was much harder than I thought to come up with ideas. Following a theme is so much easier. Which is why next week is LOVE / Valentine's day. This pattern can kinda fit into both categories. I mean, you almost always think chocolate when you think about Valentine's Day, right? This is a Lion Brand pattern that looks pretty simple and fun!

Hannah, over at Bittersweet, has an amazing collection of crochet patterns as well as recipes. She's a vegan and makes it look absolutely delightful! I have sent my mom her way a few times, as she is learning to cook vegan for a special member of their ukelele group. If that isn't the most random sentence, I don't know what is! And apparently my proper English has gone by the wayside today. My apologies! Anywho, I found this cute little coffee cup pattern over there, how adorable is it? I think I am going to put a few beans inside, to make it smell AMAZING!

Lisa, my sister in law, found this pattern from Applehead and requested that I post it on my blog. How cute is this pattern? I was thinking about what random / miscellaneous things I could find to crochet, and it came to me: a cupcake hat! Thankfully, Teresa had posted this on Ravelry the day before. I quickly got to work. Currently I am still working on this (the special order baby blanket it taking a huge chunk of time!), but I love it so far! And make sure you check out the rest of Teresa's blog. She has tons of awesome patterns and videos (if you are new to crocheting, definitely watch her videos)!

I finished this one on March 5, 2010. It is not the most amazing project that I did, but it's cute. The hat is a bit too long though, and too narrow for my head. Maybe I will give it away. Or sell it. Here is my picture:

Feb 1: Sardines Cat Toy - COMPLETED

Can you believe we made it to February? Wow, I am already one month in. I'm giving myself a little pat on the back right now! It takes 40 days to make a habit, so I have heard, and I am currently at 32! Woo hoo! Anywho, I found this cat toy on Lion Brand's site and thought it was too cute. I will probably stuff it with some catnip for our little boys... only 3 more months and H2 & Oreo (or Halvsies & Michael, as my wonderful hubby calls them) can have catnip!

Updated 3/31/2011:  I made these little sardines for the Iron Craft Challenge.  Very happy with how they turned out.  I modified the original pattern a bit.  I turned after each row on the tin sides, and then crocheted the lid straight onto the tin, rather then crocheting and then sewing on.  A little harder to figure out, but I think it made it that much easier in the end (and way less ends to weave in)!  Oh yeah, and the cats go by Halvsies and Skweaks now.. we have since figured out that they are a boy and girl... not two boys!
